Harry Potter™: The Exhibition Competition

Terms and Conditions

1. Promoter

The promoter is DIY Party Central (“the Promoter”).

This competition is conducted with the permission of the supplier of the prize, Harry Potter™: The Exhibition.

2. Competition period

The competition opens at [TIME] AEST on [OPENING DATE] and closes at [TIME] AEST on [CLOSING DATE].

Entries received after the closing time will not be accepted.

3. Eligibility

Entry is open to Australian residents aged 18 years or over.

Employees, contractors and immediate family members of the Promoter and the prize supplier are not eligible to enter.

Entrants must have access to Facebook and must be able to attend Harry Potter™: The Exhibition at Sydney Olympic Park.

4. How to enter

To enter, participants must comment on the designated DIY Party Central Facebook competition post and answer the following question:

“Which Harry Potter Character is your favourite and why?”

Only one entry per person is permitted.

Entry is free. Participants are not required to purchase anything, share the post or tag another person to enter.

Incomplete, inappropriate, offensive, unlawful or automatically generated entries may be disqualified.

5. Game of skill

This competition is a game of skill. Chance plays no part in determining the winner.

Valid entries will be judged by a representative of DIY Party Central according to:

  • Creativity

  • Originality

  • Relevance to the competition question

The judges’ decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.

6. Prize

The winner will receive one family pass to Harry Potter™: The Exhibition at Paddington Pavilion, Sydney Olympic Park.

The family pass contains four Flex Tickets valued at $50 each, with a total prize value of $200.

The Flex Tickets may be used for an eligible Monday–Friday session during the Sydney exhibition, subject to availability, exhibition operating dates and any conditions printed on or supplied with the tickets.

Weekend sessions are not included.

Transport, parking, accommodation, food, merchandise and any other costs associated with using the prize are not included.

The prize cannot be transferred, exchanged or redeemed for cash.

7. Winner selection

The winner will be selected at 12pm AEST on Thursday 25 June.

The winning entry will be the valid entry that the judges consider to be the most creative, original and relevant response.

The winner will be contacted by DIY Party Central through Facebook within two business days of judging.

The Promoter may also announce the winner’s Facebook name on the original competition post.

8. Claiming the prize

The winner must respond within seven days of being contacted and provide the information reasonably required to deliver the prize.

The prize will be supplied electronically using the email address provided by the winner.

If the winner does not respond within seven days, is found to be ineligible or cannot accept the prize, the Promoter may select the next-highest-rated eligible entry.

Participants should be alert to fake or imitation social-media accounts. DIY Party Central will not ask the winner to provide credit card details or make a payment to claim the prize.

9. Prize availability

The prize is supplied by Harry Potter™: The Exhibition.

If the prize becomes unavailable for reasons beyond the Promoter’s reasonable control, the Promoter may provide a substitute prize of equal or greater value, subject to applicable laws.

The Promoter is not responsible for changes to exhibition dates, operating hours, availability or session arrangements made by the exhibition organiser.

10. Use of entries

Entrants retain ownership of their competition responses.

By entering, participants give the Promoter permission to reproduce their submitted comment and Facebook display name for the purposes of administering, announcing and promoting the competition.

11. Privacy

Personal information collected from the winner will be used to administer the competition and deliver the prize.

The Promoter may provide the winner’s relevant details to the prize supplier where reasonably necessary to arrange the prize.

Personal information will not be added to a marketing database without consent.

12. Facebook disclaimer

This competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by or associated with Facebook or Meta.

Entrants release Facebook and Meta from any responsibility or liability associated with the competition.

Entrants acknowledge that they are providing their information to DIY Party Central and not to Facebook or Meta.

13. General conditions

The Promoter may verify the validity of entries and disqualify an entrant who tampers with the entry process, submits an entry that does not comply with these terms or engages in conduct that is unlawful, misleading or damaging to the competition.

To the extent permitted by law, the Promoter is not responsible for entries that are delayed, lost, incomplete or not visible due to technical problems or Facebook settings.

Nothing in these terms excludes any rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
