Christmas time brings with it plenty of good friends, good food, good gifts and festive fun. It’s a busy time of year, often spent hopping from one event to the other, and the last thing anyone has time for is to bake yet another delicious gift to bring along to share at that next festive occasion. This quick and easy DIY Christmas Lamington Wreath is just what you need – and the best part? There’s absolutely no baking involved! You can even play around and have fun with how you top the wreath; the options are endless. Let’s dive in.
What you need…
- One packet Lamingtons
- Whipped cream (I found storebought the easy option for this one)
- Mini candy canes
- Chocolate balls
- Strawberries
- Blueberries
- Cake board (or dish to pop it on)
How to make it…
Assembling this DIY Lamington Wreath is nice and easy! I got the kids involved to help out and they had so much fun with it.
Start by placing the lamingtons on their side on the cake board in the shape of a circle. Only leave a small gap between each one (enough for a spray of whipped cream!).
Next, grab the whipped cream and go ahead and fill each gap between the lamingtons
Now it’s time to top the wreath! We used chopped up strawberries, blueberries, chocolates and candy canes stuck in at the end. We also added another layer of whopped cream inside the wreath so we could spread more goodies.
The best part is you can add whatever you like! This wreath is so cute and effective and it’s so quick and easy to put together. It’s the perfect sweet treat to bring to that next Christmas gathering.
Tips
In our hot, Aussie Summer, it’s important to note that whipped cream melts – and fast. The best tip is to make this treat on the way out the door to keep it fresh for longer. It only takes a few minutes to make.
If you do make it ahead of time, be sure to store it in the fridge!
