When it comes to older kids, thinking of a theme and activities to keep them entertained and having fun at a party certainly gets harder! But not impossible. One mum, Kathryn, shares the incredible Neon Glow Party she put on for her teenager’s birthday. With a foam cannon, glow cubes, UV tape and more, here’s how she pulled it together.
Get Your Glow On
This is the ultimate glow party set up with so many awesome decorations to being it all together.
Black light from Jaycar.
Neon ribbon tape hanging from the ceiling from Bunnings.
The standout feature is the walls, which make such a great backdrop for the glow party. These were made using black material from Spotlight, with neon paint from Silly Sollys flicked onto it.
There was even extra paint left on the party table, so you can encourage guests to help out with the decorating and have a go at splashing it onto the walls as well. Great activity to get everyone involved with.
The decorations on the ground also pop! These are made with neon tape from Bunnings. Again, you can get creative making different shapes and patterns, and even hand some tape over to the kids to have some fun with.
Neon Party Food
What do you serve at a teenager’s party to keep them happy? Plenty of sugar! This set-up includes sherbert straws, lollies, biscuits and hot dogs – perfect for filling them up.
Couple that with plenty of cold drink options for refreshments and you’re onto a winner for everyone.
You can also get your teen involved and get them to choose what’s on the menu and even do the shopping for the party. One less stress for you and gives them some ownership over the day.
Foam
Now for the highlight of the party, the foam machine! This was rented for the day and provided hours of entertainment, with kids jumping from the foam pit into the pool.
