EXTRA Tips for planning the perfect hens night
If you’re planning a hen’s night for the girls, here are some extra tips to help it run without a hitch.
- Pick a theme first. It’s entirely up to you (and the Bride-to-be) on whether you even want a theme. But if there is going to be one, then pick it first. That way you can ensure all the decorations and outfits you buy are all on theme!
- Pick a venue. It’s common for a hens to do an activity first to help break the ice with all the guests. From cocktail classes to life drawing, there are so many options. Find one local to you and then choose where you will head onto after. Some people will just join for the beginning of the night, while others will just come to the end, which is why you need to venues picked.
- Shop in advance: it can help to source things from overseas, and it can certainly save you money in the process. The only downside to this, is that it can take a long time for the party supplies to arrive. It helps to shop well in advance to make sure you have everything you need on the big day.
- Send out Save the Dates. For a hen’s night to be really special, you want to make sure all the Bride-to-be’s closest friends can come. Send out a save the date so people block it out in the diary then a few weeks beforehand you can send out the invites with the details on them.
- Get money upfront. It’s one of the hardest parts about organizing a hens party: collecting the money. Whether you have booked an activity upfront or a drinks package for guests, you don’t want to stress about collecting $$ on the night. For those who haven’t paid, send out a reminder a week before.
- Take lots of photos. The polaroid camera is the perfect option for a hen’s party, so make use of it. Another idea is going with a simple disposable camera, so the Bride-to-be can take away and get the photos printed later. Always good for a laugh.
- Have fun! In order for the Bride-to-be to have a fun day, you have to have a fun day! Leave any stresses in the lead-up behind and work hard to get everyone into party mode.
