What are Confetti Balloons?

If you’re living under a rock and are yet to come across confetti balloons, then you’re in for a treat. As the name suggests, they are balloons that come filled with confetti! They’re usually clear balloons with confetti inside, but they can also be bought in a huge range of colours.

In most cases, the balloons are pre-filled and then tied with an elastic band to ensure none of the confetti falls out before you have a chance to blow up the balloon. Whoever thought to combine confetti in a balloon is genius. You get all the fun of glitter, without any of the mess that comes with it!

Plus, you can choose from a wide range of colours, right through to multicolour confetti inside the balloon. Yes please!

Here’s a hint: these are not good balloons for the kids to blow up and then let loose. Picture this, you will have confetti flying around your house in no time at all! A degree of caution is needed.

The same goes for pack-up time.

The best idea? If it’s a child’s party, then send all the kids home with their own confetti balloon in lieu of a party bag! Genius idea.

Otherwise, if you’re left with the clean-up then tread carefully. If you go ahead and just pop the confetti balloons, you will end up with a mess of glitter right across the floor. Here’s how to master the cleanup:

  1. Hold them over a garbage bag.
  2. Cut them right at the end.
  3. Allow the balloons with confetti inside to deflate and lower into the bag.

Games, games and more games

Kids love anything that sparkles. They also LOVE balloons. You can decorate the place by blowing up a variety of glitter balloons and simply letting them lose on the floor. Kids will love being able to run through them, throw, bounce and catch them and you’ll find they make the perfect entertainment. Of course, as you might expect this does come with a degree of risk. Balloons with confetti are known for bursting and making a HUGE mess, so be prepared that there might be some cleaning up on the agenda.

Letterbox Balloons

Balloons filled with confetti also make the perfect letterbox balloons. Thanks to their extra sparkle, they are noticeable from a distance, letting guests know exactly where the party is. Naturally, if it’s a little windy or there’s risk of popping, you probably want to avoid this. At the same time, there are plenty of eco-friendly options out there to save you from disaster.

Eco-friendly Confetti Balloons

We are very much aware these days that balloons aren’t the best option for the environment. But they are so hard to move away from at a party, since they make the perfect decoration and also provide hours of entertainment.

These days, there are plenty of eco-friendly balloons on the marker that are made from biodegradable natural rubber latex. While you might expect to pay a little more for them, they’re not too hard on the packet. Plus, you will fill good knowing you’ve made a difference.

This bulk pack of balloons is made from natural rubber and corn starch materials. They decompose in a short period of time without producing any toxic substances. A great swap if you are going eco friendly at your next event.

Tips & Tricks for Your Next Party

Balloons are the perfect addition to any party set-up, but that doesn’t mean it’s always smooth sailing. Here’s some tips and tricks to help you out.

Buy ahead

If you ask us, there’s no such thing as too early when it comes to buying party decorations! Buy away. Make sure you open them when they arrive (if ordering online) and make sure they’re exactly what you’re after. Trust me, I’ve made the mistake of ordering a 4 balloon, only to leave it in the packet until the big day and realising I actually received a 3 balloon!

Get extra

When it comes to balloons, more is more. Always opt for extra. If you buy a kit, then top it up with some more packets of balloons, just to make sure you have enough on the big day. After all, is it ever enough? You won’t regret having too many. If you end up with more than you need, then you can use them as party favours.

Stock up on supplies

If you going for a balloon garland, or even tying balloons around the venue, make sure you have what you need. While most balloon garland kits come with glue dots, or tape for the balloons, it doesn’t hurt to have extra on hand. Pre-plan how much string you might need, make sure you have scissors on hand, and consider whether a little Blu-tak might help you hang things up.

Prepare ahead of time

Did you know? You can actually knock a balloon garland out of the way the night before. Of course, if you’re transporting it to a venue, then you’re going to have trouble getting it there, so it might better to wait. But if you’re having the party at home, then go ahead and get organised the night before. It will be the biggest load off on the big day.

Get help

Blowing up balloon after balloon isn’t easy, so be sure to enlist some helpers on the day! Get some friends or family to come over early to help with the set-up and take the pressure off you. Then you can return the favour to them one day.

Don’t forget to have fun

Lastly, in all of your toil and trouble, don’t forget to live a little, breathe, laugh, smile, and just live. Loosen up, it’s a party and you are going to do great with it!

We wish you all the best with your party planning and decorations. You are going to ace it, we have faith in you. For more information, contact us at [email protected]
